Hortensia Cottage is a charming rural retreat. The owner has quite obviously taken the time to update facilities at the cottage. The bathrooms and kitchen are nicely equipped and tastefully decorated, whilst the living space and bedrooms have been restored and decorated in sympathy with the age and setting of the property.
We managed to have great weather in the low to mid 20's, with plenty of sunshine, just right for sight seeing, and there is plenty of that to do. You will need a car to get the most from your exploring, as the whole region is full of villages that seem to have been lost in time.
The calm of the cottage and general pace of life of the region meant we enjoyed leisurely breakfasts and evening meals with one or two afternoons on the front patio reading or playing board games.
We would definitely stay again.

A very pleasant house in the heart of a French wine producing village. The house is nicely presented, comfortable and conveniently located for visits to Narbonne ans Carcassonne. We found plenty to do. Visits to the local wine producers and cave co-operatives are a must.

Simon and Tricia - Manchester. October 2012

Well equipped and attractively designed interior with lovely modern bathrooms and the grenier is a really spacious suite. Sunny and shady areas to sit outside and wine and dine. Friendly village with excellent boulangerie, good central bar/bistro and well stocked village shop. Nearby villages/small towns each have their own interest and character. Canal du Midi not to be missed for entertaining walks near the locks! - and good restaurants. A great holiday with excellent weather.

Mr Filtness - Northumberland. September 2012.

A wonderfully quiet, historic setting in a beautiful little French village. The house had everything and more and was a true home-from-home. The surrounding area provided good food, good wine, good adventures and if you like history lots to explore. Easy to book, easy to get there and exceptionally easy to enjoy. Thanks to the owners, the experience of Hortensia Cottage was extremely enjoyable. Thank you. We'll return for sure and recommend this haven to anyone.
